Your setup, explained

A few good
WordPress questions.

Do I need to install a WordPress plugin?

No additional Postomatic plugin is needed. Connect through WordPress’s built-in REST API with a dedicated Application Password. Your site needs to allow that connection over HTTPS.

Can I edit the articles in WordPress?

Yes. Supported content arrives as editable Gutenberg blocks. More complex sections are preserved as HTML, so the complete article stays readable. Your WordPress theme controls how the post appears on your site.

Can I schedule posts and update published articles?

Yes. Set your publishing schedule in Postomatic. Articles published through the connection can be updated on the same WordPress post, with the article, images and links kept together.

Will it work with my SEO plugin?

SEO metadata can be sent when your WordPress site exposes the relevant fields and you configure them in the connection. Your existing SEO plugin continues to manage your site’s settings.

What do I need to connect?

A public WordPress site using HTTPS, a WordPress username and a dedicated Application Password. Postomatic checks the account’s permissions to edit, publish, upload media and manage posts before saving the connection. Your hosting or security settings must allow the WordPress REST API.

Does this work with WordPress.com?

Your site must offer WordPress Application Passwords and the REST API access needed to publish posts and upload media. Availability depends on your hosting setup or WordPress.com plan, so check those features before connecting.
